In addition, some air bags consist of only one layer of material, for example poly-vinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene (PE).

What is the function of an airbag?

When inflated and installed they reduce the risk of product damage by restricting load movement during transit. The air bags are positioned in gaps between the cargo and inflated with compressed air in a matter of seconds.
Their light weight makes the air bags easy to handle and fit into place, even into gaps that are hard to reach. In many cases only a few air bags are needed to secure and protect even the largest cargo loads.

Additionally, air bags reposition the load and create a bulkhead, further preventing load shifts.
